What it is: The fourth studio album from rapper Big Sean.
The most notable thing about I Decided. for me was realizing how much Big Sean sounds like Drake–partly in his blasé but rhythmically and melodically versatile delivery, and partly in his vaguely sketched themes of success and dissatisfaction. I don’t really know who bit who, though a quick Google search seems to suggest Drake was the copycat, but since I don’t really like this style much to begin with, it doesn’t really matter.
I’ll also note that Eminem has a scene-stealing guest verse on the song “No Favors.” He’s still rapping in that annoyingly over-intricate flow he’s had for his last couple albums, but he’s also still insulting Trump, so that’s nice at least. The guy went eight years with a president he couldn’t really go after; you have to figure he’s chomping at the bit.
